Welcome to October

Hello Fall, First grade is excited for the new season of Fall. As with all seasons, there is so much change. Technology is up and running in first grade, so welcome to Maloney's Marvelous Minds. I will be letting you know the great things happening in first grade. We are becoming marvelous readers and writers. We are getting into the swing of our new reading program Reading Street. We are learning amazing words and all about nouns and verbs. Our marvelous mathmeticians are learning about addition and subtraction sentences. We are zipping through math fact sheets to become fact experts. We are studying about landforms, continents, and the human body. We are learning about Jesus and his marvelous life. We are becoming a family and forming friendships that will be strong and meaningful. We ran our legs off at the jog-a-thon and have been discussing what service projects we would like to do. We are changing and becoming what God has intended for us. We are on our journey so come and along and share it with us.
